A inspiração vem de muitos lados, sob muitas formas. A mim, inspiram-me as crianças, as cores, os tecidos. Às vezes, tudo o que é preciso é que o vento vire e nos leve com ele.

Não sei como se traduz esta expressão, "costuras francesas"? Bem, não me parece muito importante. O que me aprece importante é o fabuloso tutorial que encontrei aqui. A Toni fez um excelente trabalho e é uma forma muito "limpa" de terminar uma peça. Tenho a certeza que o vou utilizar em breve. Aqui fica o vídeo.

Amor de Galo, uma lojinha super-simpática, situada mesmo à saída da Ponte de D. Luís na margem de Vila Nova de Gaia. "Artesanato Contemporâneo com Alma Nacional", sem dúvida um local a visitar!
"Amor de Galo", a super cute store filled with handmade items, placed just outside the D. Luís bridge at the Vila Nova de Gaia side of the Douro River in the north of Portugal. "Contemporany handmade items with a national soul", definitely a place to visit when coming to the Porto region!
Vira-ventos all over!
Este fim-de-semana foi de produção intensiva. Novas cores, novas criações! Mas isso é para um próximo post durante a semana. Tenho ainda um especial de Verão para vos mostrar, mas como este anda tão tímido (pelo menos cá no norte do país), ainda nem me atrevi a gritar VERÃO por estes lados...
Quando as ideias estão a fluir é difícil pará-las (tanto quanto é difícil levantar um bloqueio mental). Assim, surgiu mais um vira-vento, ainda em fase de testes, mas que promete encher a nossa casa de cor. Conseguem adivinhar o que é?
The was an intensive production weekend. New colors, new creations! But that is for a leter in the week post. I still have a Summer special to show you, but Summer has been so shy (at least around the north of Portugal), that I haven't even dared to shout SUMMER around here.
When the ideas are flowing it is hard to stop them (probably as hard as to lift a mental blockage). Thus, another pinwheel has arrived, still being tested, but with a promise of filling our house with color. Can you guess what this is?

Vira-ventos / Pinwheels
Recentemente recebi um pedido fora do normal: vira-ventos. Embora o nome seja Ana e os Vira-ventos, o que por cá se faz é essencialmente costura. É certo que com as nossas costurinhas segue sempre um vira-vento, mas (até agora) não os produzimos em massa!
Uma educadora de infância queria oferecer um vira-ventos a cada um dos seus meninos aquando da entrega final dos seus trabalhinhos. Foi um desafio que aceitei e gostei muito. Tive oportunidade de me ir perder no mundo dos papéis, de que tenho vindo a gostar mais e mais. O resultado foi este: 25 vira-ventos em tons de rosa para as meninas e azul para os meninos. Muita cor e alegria!
Recently I received an unusual request: pinwheels. Although the name is Ana e os vira-ventos (= Ana and the pinwheels), The main activity around here is sewing. It is true that with our orders always follows a pinwheel, but (so far) there was no intention of producing them!
A kindergarten teacher wanted to offer a pinwheel to each of her kids and asked me to do them. I immediately accepted the challenge and really enjoyed it. I was able to get lost in the world of papers, that I have come to like more and more. The result was this: 25 pinwheels in shades of pink for girls and blue for boys. Lots of color and fun!
